CSI professional credentials are evidence of proven knowledge, education, and experience with construction documents. Holding a certification demonstrates professional commitment, credibility and reliability to employers, colleagues, and clients. At CSI, we offer 4 certification levels.

  • Construction Documentation Technology (CDT) - CSI's CDT program has provided foundation training in construction documentation for architects, contractors, contract administrators, specifiers, and manufacturers' representatives for decades. As the cornerstone of CSI's certification program, it's also prerequisite to CSI's advanced certification exams. For more information, click here (
  • Certified Construction Specifier (CCS)
  • Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA)
  • Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR)

Spring 2017 exam dates have not been announced yet.

Note: CCS, CCCA and CCPR exam candidates must pass CSI’s CDT exam before registering for the advanced certification exams

Portland Chapter Certification Classes

Are you interested in furthering your professional education and providing better services to your clients? Then get certified in the spring of 2017 with the support of Portland’s CSI Chapter. We offer classes with experienced instructors to help you understand the material needed to pass the exam. This seven-class series is useful for anyone in the A/E/C industry who is interested in understanding the process, roles/responsibilities, and project delivery from cradle to grave. This class is also beneficial as an additional resource to the textbook for preparing for the CDT exam. Through CSI’s Certification Program, you can develop a conceptual understanding of the entire construction process and concrete skills in:

  • Construction documentation development and administration
  • Specification writing and enforcement
  • Product research and sourcing
  • Communication with the design and contracting teams

The CDT exam (Construction Documents Technologist) is the foundation course for all construction individuals. Studying for the exam will help you learn about contractual relationships, Use of construction documents, and the construction process as a whole. Advanced exams are available for a more in-depth review of Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA); Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) and Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR).

Sessions:

The Portland CDT Prep Class will be taught at the offices of Ankrom Moisan Architects at 38 NW Davis Suite 300, Portland, OR 97209, on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 PM, beginning February 2 through March 23.

Cost:

The cost of the class does not include the exam registration or the Practice Guide. CDT candidates are encouraged to obtain a copy and read the AIA-A201 General Conditions, the CDT Study Guide and Addendum from the CSI-Institute webpage, located under the “Certification/CDT/Exam Prep” tabs, and become familiar with the CDT exam requirements.

Presenters:

The sessions will be taught by several local professionals (volunteers), with CCCA and CCS certifications. The course is based on CSI’s PDPG-Project Delivery Practice Guide.

Materials:

The PowerPoint presentations of each class are included with your registration. You will also need resource materials found on CSI’s National website For extra CDT study notes, follow #CDTStudyNotes on Twitter.

Need to Renew your certification?

Individuals who hold the Certified Construction Specifier (CCS), Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), or Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR) Certifications are required to renew their Certification once every 3 years. In the renewal year, CSI will send these certificants a Notice for Certification Renewal. Those holding the Construction Document Technology (CDT) certificate do not renew. Instructions for renewing on line, complete with screenshots, are available.
